LAX was miserable on Christmas Eve. I ate special cookies my wonderful roommate gave me for the long flight, slept, woke up, and we were already descending on into Sydney. Met with one of my favorite people in the world, Thomas Rennie after my final flight into Melbourne, where I’ll be staying for the next few weeks.
It seems as though all of my favorite New Yorkers have been chasing summer here, and for damn good reason. Melbourne is truly breathtaking in the summer. Me, Olivia, Kendra, and Thomas sun bathed on Half Moon Bay while giggling at the blizzard we were missing in NYC.
We went on a late night walk and broke into an abandoned silo, one of the highest points in town. I thought we were going to get arrested, killed by scary bums or the sketchy metal staircase would crumble as we climbed the silo about thirty flights high. Luckily, we only left with a few cuts and bruises and amazing photos to remember it all. The next day we drove out to Flinders, where Thomas grew up. Finally had the chance to meet his amazing parents and enjoy the great weather. Went to a vineyard, did some wine tasting, ate some fish and chips. It was a good day.

Got back to Fitzroy that evening and got ready for a good New Years celebration. Third year in a row that I’ve been out of the States for New Years. Feels good.

I hope you all have had an amazing holiday season and new year! I’ll be doing some more updates of the many adventures to come.
Much love.
