A three-channel film portrays three women repeating the same word in Arabic, German, and English, one after the other. Each word transmits a vibration through a container of water, which is then reflected, drawing an image of the vibration of each word on the wall opposite the video.

For Ard, Erde, Earth, Al-Arashi confronts a loss of memory and language as a means of adapting to place. With this work, the artist questions transmission of language, and the fluidity of memory within time and body.
